African Spurred Tortoise is the third biggest tortoise of the world. Males can grow up to 90 cm shell length and weight up to 100 kg. Females are smaller. This species is from arid areas in sub saharan Africa and they can dig huge burrows in nature up to 15 meters of length. In captivity you can keep them same as other tortoises. They need access to UVB lighting and feeding in the forms of grasses and leaves. They from arid environment but they still need fresh water in their tank.
