The Russian Tortoise (Testudo (Agrionemys) horsfieldii) is a smaller to medium-sized terrestrial turtle from drier environments. This species of turtle is best kept in an indoor habitat with a higher layer of substrate, as they like to burrow. As with other terrestrial turtles, we must provide a suitable source of UVB radiation for the turtle. Food is the same as for other steppe species - dandelion and other meadow plants in summer and Chinese cabbage in winter. There must always be a bowl of water in the tank.
